Vaccinations opens for all adults today, but govt. has no clear insights
India will kick of their vaccination drive for all the adults of the country today. But on the eve of April 30 the centre said only “some states” which have “co-ordinated” with vaccine makers on getting vaccines from the open market, will begin the drive.
11 days ago the centre had announced that vaccination will be given to all adults from may 1. But this decesion was taken without consulting staes and without checking the stocks of the vaccines.
On saturday, the centre govt made key changes in the vaccine policy: in order to vaccinate someone, private hospitals will have to buy supplies from the open market.
while many private vaccination centres may not recieve doses of the vaccines. But some have communicated wtih the vaccine makers, they learned that vaccines may be delayed for months to come.
